Size does matter, at least when it comes to your physical SIM card. Depending on your device, you’ll need a standard, micro or nano SIM.
When you order, we’ll send you a 3-in-1 SIM card, so you’re always covered. It’s standard SIM size, but you can pop out the two smaller formats if needed.
Or go fully digital with an eSIM. Super fast, eco-friendly, and no more fiddling with physical cards.
Physical SIM card
A traditional SIM card is sent by regular post after you place your order.
Works in every smartphone.
You will receive this SIM card after 3 to 5 working days.
Quite a hassle to switch a SIM card like that. Used many paperclips, have you?
You can’t change your phone number. The number you transfer to us, or the brand-new one you get with your SIM card, is stuck with you for good.
Your SIM card number
Identify your sim card
The law requires us to know who’s behind every SIM card. You identify yourself by making your next payment with Bancontact. Depending on your product, you can also use itsme.
Within 18 months of your first payment, we’ll ask you to re-identify.
Good to know
Your first payment and the 18-month check-in always need to be done using a Belgian payment method. For all other payments, you choose what suits you best.
Setting up automatic or SMS payments with a foreign bank account? Then you won't be able to activate a prepaid card.
Need a new (replacement) SIM card?
New device of the same brand?
Got an eSIM on an iPhone, Samsung, or Google smartphone, and is your new device from the same brand? Your eSIM will automatically move along while setting up your new phone! No need to scan a QR code or delete your old eSIM profile yourself. Note: this only works between devices of the same brand (so iPhone to iPhone works, but iPhone to Samsung doesn't).
New device of a different brand?
No problem, as long as your new phone supports eSIM. Just follow the steps in the eSIM tab below.
Handing over or sharing your SIM card
Passing on your number to a friend or family member? You can easily manage that yourself in your My Viking account:
1
Choose your SIM card > Product settings > Transfer SIM card to someone else.
2
Fill in the new owner's details.
3
They’ll get an email and just need to click the button to accept the transfer.
4
They enter the required details.
5
Done! The new owner receives a confirmation email.
Frequently asked questions
Have you been waiting for more than five working days? Get in touch with us so we can send you a new SIM card. Please make sure to include the correct delivery address again.
SIM cards are sent by regular mail and therefore do not include track & trace. It is likely that the first SIM card was lost in the mail.
I haven’t received my physical SIM card. What should I do?
You can request a SIM card for a family member (parents, grandparents, children, grandchildren, siblings), your spouse, your legal cohabitant, or someone you are the legal guardian of.
Can I request a SIM card for someone else?
That’s not possible. If you need an extra SIM card - for example, for your car or tablet - you’ll need to order a new SIM card with a new number.
First, decide whether you want a subscription or a prepaid SIM card. You can choose between a physical SIM card or an eSIM. Just follow the steps on the order page and you’re good to go! ;-)
Can I order an extra SIM card for the same number?
Is your new number already in use on WhatsApp? Your new number might be a recycled one, meaning someone else used it before. Is it still linked to the previous owner's WhatsApp account? Then you might receive messages from strangers, see an old profile picture or groups, or get asked for a PIN code you don't know.
Confirm your number via SMS Install WhatsApp, enter your new number, and put in the SMS code. That’s how you prove the number is yours. WhatsApp logs out the previous user immediately, so they won't be able to read your chats.
Still seeing old info or getting messages from strangers?
Update your name, profile picture, and status.
Leave groups you don't belong to.
Block unknown numbers.
Most messages will fade out within 1 to 2 weeks.
Is WhatsApp asking for a PIN you don't know? Then the previous owner set up two-step verification. Tap 'Forgot PIN?' and then 'No access to email?'. After 7 days, the old PIN expires and you can set your own. Make sure not to enter wrong PINs during that period, or the timer resets. WhatsApp enforces this wait time, so we can't shorten it for you.
Still stuck after 7 days? Reach out to WhatsApp support first. If you're still locked out or the messages keep coming after that, drop us a line!

How can I change my pincode?
On most devices, you can do this via the settings menu. Not working for you? You can change your PIN using your phone’s dial pad. Enter and call this code: **04*[old PIN]*[new PIN]*[new PIN]#
Tip: On some devices, you only need one asterisk (*) at the start, like this:
*04*1111*1934*1934#
Note: your new PIN won’t be updated in your My Viking account, so don’t forget it!
eSIM
You will immediately receive an email to activate your eSIM.
After activation you will receive a personal QR code. Simply scan it and off you go!
