Stress-free installation

At Mobile Vikings, we take care of everything. An expert will install and activate your internet at a time that works for you. On top of that, you’ll get a free optimisation of your home network. Choose a seamless start.

If possible at your address, you can also install everything yourself for free. This option will automatically appear during your order.

more about self installation

What will this cost me?

The installation of your fixed internet is usually free, depending on your situation:

  • If self-installation is possible, you can set everything up at no cost. Prefer a technician to handle it for you? An installation fee will be applied.

  • Not possible to install it yourself? No worries! Then a technician will come by for free.

  • With Fiber or an upgrade to Fiber: the installation is always free.

Your installer’s on the way!

Here’s what you can already do to prepare for the installation:

  • Make sure an adult is present who knows your preferences (e.g. where the modem should be placed). The contact person will receive an SMS two days in advance and a call 30 minutes before the appointment.

  • Check where the entry cable enters your home or building (garage, basement, shop, etc.) and ensure that area is easily accessible.

  • Make sure there’s a free and working power socket near where the modem will be installed.

Manage your appointment

I want to reschedule my appointment

You can reschedule your installation appointment up to 48 hours before the planned date. After that, changes are no longer possible and the appointment will go ahead as scheduled.

Tip: Plan in advance to secure your desired day/time.

Please note: the first date available online is also the earliest possible moment a technician is available.  There are no earlier appointments possible.

How does the installation work?

  1. 1

    Installer announcement

Around 30 minutes before your appointment, the installer will call you (or your chosen contact person) to let you know they’re on their way.

  2. 2

    Hardware installation

The installer will set up all necessary equipment, including the modem and any additional devices provided.

  3. 3

    Cabling

Up to 20 metres of cable can be installed, including any horizontal drilling through walls if needed. Existing cables will also be checked.

  4. 4

    Wi-Fi check in your home

The installer will test the Wi-Fi coverage in your home to make sure everything’s working as it should.

  5. 5

Extra work? Only after discussing it.

Any work beyond the standard installation - like digging or more complex jobs - will always be discussed with the installer first.

  6. 6

    Your old modem

will be taken away by the technician.

  7. 7

After the installation: automatic speed optimisation

After setup, your connection will automatically go through a speed optimisation process (DLM). Your internet may gradually get faster over the next 10 days until it reaches the ideal level.

To keep your speed optimised after that, an invisible check runs every 14 days. You won’t notice a thing while surfing.

After installation: what to expect

Usage

You’ll find your exact usage listed on your monthly bill.

Your first payment

Your invoice or payment invitation will arrive on the 4th, 12th, 20th or 28th of the month, depending on when your bundle renews. You’ll receive your first bill on the first billing date after that renewal. For internet, you only start paying once your modem is up and running and your line is active. No need to do anything, we’ll take care of that check for you.

You can! Just fill in this form and we will arrange it for you. Count on 3-5 working days for the processing of your request and the shipment of the wall mount. Good to know: the wall mount and shipping are completely free. ;-)

Can I request a wall mount for my modem?

The installation is not always free. It is only free if you choose for self-installation or if a technician is required. Did you choose to have a technician come by yourself while a self-installation was possible? If so, the installation will be charged and the costs will appear on your bill.

Why are there installation costs on my bill if it’s supposed to be free?

A conduit (also called a protective sleeve or cable duct) is a tube designed for guiding telephone cables or electrical wiring. It can also be used for water or gas pipes. Conduits are often called cable protection tubes because they help protect and organise cables and wires safely.

What is a conduit?

Dig a trench 60 cm deep on private property, between the building and the building line, perpendicular to the street. This trench can also be used for other utilities, as long as it meets the required standards.

Place a rigid PVC conduit in the trench with a smooth inner wall (minimum diameter of 50 mm), fitted with a pull wire that extends 50 cm beyond both ends. The conduit should run all the way into the building, typically through an energy bend or an opening in the masonry.

Seal both ends of the conduit with a removable cap, and place a marker post at the street-side end. Make sure to waterproof the connection between the conduit (or energy bend) and the masonry openings.

How do you install a conduit?

Did you find this helpful?

Your feedback
  • Think about your internal wiring: are there existing cables? Who’s placing them? Which devices do you want to connect and where? The installer will review this with you.

  • Have a laptop, PC, or mobile phone ready on the day of installation.

  • Living in an apartment? Inform your building manager (syndic) in advance.

  • For new builds or renovations: provide a conduit (at least 50 mm in diameter, smooth inside wall, with a pull wire).

  • And don't worry: the installer is from Proximus. 😉 All good!

  • You can cancel your installation appointment up to 48 hours before the planned date. After that, cancellations are no longer possible and the appointment will go ahead as scheduled.
