Quick tips to fix your internet or Wi-Fi

  • Place your modem at least 1 metre above the ground and away from other electrical devices to avoid interference.

  • Make sure the LED lights are visible for better coverage.
Use Wi-Fi boosters if your modem is too far from other rooms.

An Ethernet cable provides faster, more stable internet without interference. This keeps Wi-Fi free for devices that really need it.
For wired networks throughout your home, you can hire an electrician.

Devices such as microwave ovens, baby monitors, cordless phones, wireless sound systems, game controllers and security cameras can interfere with your Wi-Fi signal.

Do you have one of these devices at home? Turn it off briefly or unplug it to test whether it solves the problem.
Does that help? Move the device further away from your modem or try a different Wi-Fi channel if your device allows it.

Building materials such as thick walls, concrete or metal can also cause issues.

Devices older than 5 years can reduce your Wi-Fi performance.
If possible, connect them via an Ethernet cable or turn off their Wi-Fi when you’re not using them.

In this case, it’s okay to go all the way – reset your modem, your Wi-Fi network name, and password.

Many devices or heavy downloads can reduce Wi-Fi quality.
Limit simultaneous 4K streaming or large file downloads.

Your speed is automatically optimised within 10 days.
After that, a check is performed every 14 days without any noticeable impact.

Turn off your modem, wait 15 seconds, and then switch it back on. It may take a few minutes for your modem to fully reboot – that’s completely normal.

Is your Wi-Fi booster the culprit?

Here’s what you can do.
