Mobile internet abroad, also known as data roaming.

How does it work?

Mobile internet abroad is possible thanks to roaming. Roaming means using a mobile network other than Mobile Vikings when you are abroad. Your device will automatically switch to a local network.

Turn on/off

Want to turn data roaming on/off? You can easily do this through your device settings.

    Go to the Start screen and choose Settings.

    Choose Mobile Service.

  3. 3

    Choose Mobile Data Options.

  4. 4

    Turn on or turn off Data Roaming.

Android

  1. 1

    Go to the Start screen and choose Settings.

  2. 2

    Choose Connections.

  3. 3

    Choose Mobile networks.

  4. 4

    Disable Data roaming SIM 1.

  5. 5

    Data roaming has been disabled.

Having trouble with your mobile internet abroad? Then it’s best to go through this checklist:

iOS

1. Restart your device as soon as you arrive abroad.

2. Manual network selection:

  • Go to Settings.

  • Tap Mobile Network.

  • Tap Network Selection.

  • Turn off the Automatic option.

  • Wait for the available networks to appear (this can take up to two minutes).

  • Select one of the local providers.

3. Mobile data outside the EU: check out our Global Data Pass.

Android

1. Restart your device as soon as you arrive abroad.

  • Tap Connections.

  • Go to Mobile Networks > Network Operators

  • Turn off Select automatic option.

  • Wait for the available networks to appear (this can take up to two minutes).

  • Select one of the local providers.
