Stay connected on vacation with the Global Data Pass.
To avoid unexpected high costs, we automatically block mobile data usage outside the EU. Do you still want to use data outside the EU? Then there’s the Global Data Pass.
This pass is valid for one month from activation, regardless of whether you use the data. You can purchase the Global Data Pass for both prepaid cards and subscriptions and use it in multiple countries outside the EU without having to buy a new pass each time.
Please note: The bundle is only valid for mobile data and cannot be used for calls or text messages.
In which countries can I use it?
The Global Data Pass is based on the destinations outside the EU that our Vikings choose most often. Below, you’ll find a list of our top destinations outside the EU.

Destination in sight? Time to activate!

Go to your My Viking account. You can activate it before departure or upon arrival.

Select the mobile number for which you want to purchase a pass.

Go to product settings.

Scroll down a bit, and there you will see “Activate a GDP.”
Note! If you only activate this upon arrival, you will, of course, need to be connected to a Wi-Fi network.
You can also activate a global data pass via SMS. For a prepaid card, this is only possible if you have set up an Easy Payment method.
Send one of the following codes for free via SMS to 1984:
ROAM250MB for 250 MB of data.
ROAM1GB for 1 GB of data.
ROAM3GB for 3 GB of data.
For this activation method, you don't need a connection to a Wi-Fi network, unless you need to make a manual payment. A connection to the regular network is, of course, required.
How is the payment processed?
Subscription
The Global Data Pass is activated immediately and will appear on your next invoice.
As always, available Viking Points will first be used to pay for it.
Prepaid Card
You can pay for the Global Data Pass via your My Viking account with available Viking points, balance, or SMS.
Don’t have enough balance or Viking Points? The remaining amount will be automatically charged via your Easy Payment method. If you haven’t set that up, you can pay online separately.
Can’t order via SMS because you haven’t set up Easy Payment? Order through your My Viking account.
Note: You will need Wi-Fi for online payments.
