Think twice before you start

Before you get started with eSIM, check if your device is eSIM-ready.

Use this tool to see whether your phone supports eSIM.

Are you switching from another provider? Then make sure there isn’t an old eSIM still active. If there is, remove it by following the steps provided on this page.

Make sure you're connected to a stable Wi-Fi network.

Download the Mobile Vikings app on your phone.

Install and activate your eSIM

Installing an eSIM is quick and easy! After placing your order, you’ll receive an email with a code to activate your eSIM. Once that activation is successful, you’ll get a second email containing a QR code.

Don’t scan the QR code with your camera app. That will make it unusable. Just follow the steps below.

    Choose Settings.

    Choose Mobile Data.

    Choose Add Data Plan.

    Scan the QR code.

    Choose Add Data Plan.

    Choose a label for your new data plan, in this case, Primary, and choose Continue.

    Choose the line you would like to use as the default for voice calls and messaging, in this case, Primary.

    Choose Continue.

    Choose the default line you would like to use for mobile data, in this case, Primary.

    Choose Settings.

    Choose SIM card manager.

    Choose Add mobile plan.

    Searching for linked eSIM profiles.

    Scan the QR code on the eSIM voucher

    The eSIM profile is being downloaded. This can take up to 5 minutes.

Frequently asked questions

Your SIM card might not be fully activated yet. First, try restarting your device. Still not working? Then try your SIM card in another device to rule out any issues with your phone. If that doesn't solve the problem, contact our helpdesk.

I have no network after activation.

Please contact our helpdesk so they can assist you further.

I haven’t received an activation/confirmation email for my eSIM. What now?

Did you enter the correct digits but still got an error message? Please contact our helpdesk.

I’m getting an error message while activating my SIM card.

You can identify yourself by completing your first payment using Bancontact. The law requires a new identification within 18 months of your first transaction.

If you set up an automatic or SMS payment method with a foreign bank account, you will not be able to activate a prepaid SIM card.

Your first payment and the 18-month verification payment must always be made with a Belgian payment method. For all other payments, any method is accepted.

You can check your identification status via your My Viking account!

How does SIM card identification work?

Is your email not working? Try logging in with your phone number instead and vice versa. Also check if your device is automatically capitalizing the first letter of your password.
