Always in control of your out-of-bundle costs!

Here you’ll find a full overview of all out-of-bundle costs. That way, you always know what to expect, no surprises.

What are out-of-bundle costs?

These are costs for usage that isn’t included in your monthly bundle. There are 4 types of out-of-bundle costs:

International calls and texts

Calling or texting international numbers from within Belgium. Check the rates per country on our roaming page.

Calling and surfing outside Europe

To protect you from unexpected high costs, we automatically block mobile data usage outside the EU. Want to surf anyway? Activate a Global Data Pass. Rates for incoming and outgoing calls outside Europe can be found on our roaming page.

Calling or texting premium services

Like texting De Lijn or paying for parking. The rate is shown next to the number.

Usage after your bundle is used up

  • For subscriptions, the rate is € 0.001 per MB and € 0.20 per minute.

  • For prepaid cards, the rate is € 0.20 per minute for calls, € 0.10 per SMS, and € 0.10 per MB (call-focused), or € 0.40 per minute for calls, € 0.10 per SMS, and € 0.10 per MB (data-focused).

We keep you in the loop!

We send out two types of notifications when you start using services outside your bundle:

As soon as you go out-of-bundle

You’ll get an instant heads-up when you start calling, texting or surfing outside your subscription. This usage is charged on top of your fixed monthly fee.

For every €10 you go out-of-bundle

You’ll get a notification for every € 10 extra. Sometimes the first message may pop up a bit sooner than expected, our apologies for that.

You can always track your out-of-bundle usage in detail via your My Viking account.

No extra costs for me, please

  • To keep your out-of-bundle costs in check, you can set a limit in your My Viking account. You can choose a cap of € 50, € 25, € 10, € 5, or even € 0.

  • If you’ve set your limit to € 0 and your bundle is used up, you won’t be able to use any services that aren’t included in your plan by default.

Premium what now?

Those are paid numbers you call or text for specific services, like getting a De Lijn ticket, reaching a helpdesk, or paying for parking via SMS. The rate depends on the number and is always shown next to it. So always check the rate beforehand to avoid surprises.
