More frequently asked questions

‹ backDoes Mobile Vikings support the 4G network?

Mobile Vikings uses the network of mobile provider Telenet Group. Telenet owns the BASE network, but we still use BASE's side of the network. Telenet and BASE a re still on separate networks, so coverage cannot be compared among Telenet SIM cards. But you CAN compare coverage with a BASE SIM card.

That is why Vikings also surf the fast 4G network. Are you keen to find out whether 4G is available where you are? Then check out this map. If you are at a location where 4G is offered, it will be displayed on the screen of your smartphone as '4G' or 'LTE'.

Telenet Group currently uses a frequency of 1800 MHz for its 4G network. If you buy a device with a 4G function, make sure that it supports this frequency. This is especially important for devices bought abroad. The local frequencies may be different from those offered in Belgium or even Europe.

None

‹ backI already had a subscription before 10/7/2017. Will the remaining minutes of my Viking advantage also be automatically converted to mobile data?

No, the free calling minutes to other Vikings you receive every month, will not be automatically converted to mobile data for the next month. This will only happen to the minutes in your subscription bundle.

Watch out: this advantage only applies to subscriptions that were contracted before 10/7/2017.

‹ backI ordered a SIM card with subscription. Does it have a month bundle?

Yes, and it is valid from the moment your subscription is activated. Note that we are not talking about calendar months here. For example, let’s say you activated your subscription on 14 September. Your month bundle is then valid until 14 October.

Only valid if you signed up for a subscription before 10/07/2017: every new month (at each new bundle), you'll receive 5 extra megabytes for every unused calling minute from your previous bundle. This extra mobile data will remain valid for a whole month.
