# Self-installation of your internet at home

DIY is your middle name. Or not, either way, installing your internet at home yourself is a total breeze!

Set up your internet at home yourself, quickly and easily. Bpost delivers everything you need within 3 to 5 working days. The self-installation takes about 30 minutes, so you’ll be online in no time!

During your order, you’ll immediately see whether self-installation is possible for you. This is possible if there is already a Proximus connection in your home.

## Preparation is key!

- No need for an elaborate setup before you begin.

- What you can do: find a connection point with a power socket nearby, and keep your Mobile Vikings app close, you’ll need it soon.

- But for now: sit back & relax!

## After installation: what to expect

### Usage

You’ll find your exact usage listed on your monthly bill.

### Your first payment

Your invoice or payment invitation will arrive on the 4th, 12th, 20th or 28th of the month, depending on when your bundle renews. You’ll receive your first bill on the first billing date after that renewal. For internet, you only start paying once your modem is up and running and your line is active.

No need to do anything, we’ll take care of that check for you.

## Frequently asked questions

### I haven’t received my modem.

If everything goes smoothly, your package should arrive within 3 to 5 working days. With bpost Track & Trace, you can follow your delivery status anytime, anywhere. Still haven’t received it after 5 days? [Get in touch with our helpdesk](https://mobilevikings.be/en/support#contact), they’ll check what’s going on and take the necessary steps.

### I chose self-installation, but I’d prefer a technician after all.

No problem, just [contact our helpdesk](https://mobilevikings.be/en/support#contact) and we’ll arrange for a technician to come help you with the installation. Please note: this visit will incur a service charge.

### I have no network after self-installation.

It can take up to an hour for your network to become visible. Still no connection after that? [Contact our helpdesk](https://mobilevikings.be/en/support#contact) so they can check what might be causing the issue.

### What’s in the package I’ll receive?

Inside the package we send you, you’ll find - no surprise - your brand-new modem, a cable to connect it, and a handy installation guide printed on the inside of the packaging. In some cases, you might also get extra cables or a special adapter, depending on the type of installation.
