Moving is hectic enough already. Luckily, your internet is easily sorted. Just a few clicks and you’re back online at your new place.

## 6 simple steps to move your Mobile Vikings internet

Buying new furniture, picking an energy provider, packing boxes… you’ve got enough on your plate! We’ll make sure your internet at home is sorted in no time.

### 1\. Inform us as soon as possible

We recommend doing this at least 3 weeks in advance so we have enough time to prep things behind the scenes. You can do it via your [My Viking account](https://mobilevikings.be/en/my-viking/lines/settings): open your internet subscription, go to the ‘Product’ tab, and click ‘Move subscription to a new address’.

### 3\. Choose when to move your internet

When moving, you have two options for your current subscription:

- We terminate your current subscription immediately when the internet connection is active at your new address. No double charges, no extra action needed.

- You cancel the subscription yourself whenever you want. Handy if you want internet at both addresses for a period of time.

### 5\. Cancel your old subscription

When the subscription at your old address is terminated, we will send you a pro rata calculation for your last invoice.

Did you choose to **cancel your internet subscription yourself**? Don’t forget to terminate your subscription or you will continue to pay for both addresses. Otherwise, you will pay for both your old and new internet subscription. You can do this easily through your [My Viking account](https://mobilevikings.be/en/my-viking/lines/settings): go to ‘Internet at home’, open the ‘Product’ tab and choose ‘Cancel internet at home’.

Did you choose to **cancel your subscription immediately** after the activation of your Internet connection at your new address?Then you don't have to do anything else, we'll take care of everything for you. ;-)

### 2\. We check your new address

First, we’ll check the connection at your new address. If Fiber is already available, awesome! You’ll be surfing at top speed soon. No Fiber yet? No worries, you’ll still surf at high speed via a standard copper connection. And as soon as Fiber becomes available, you’ll get a free upgrade from us.

### 4\. Your internet moves

To move your Internet subscription, you have several options:

**Self-installation (free):** 

- We’ll send you a new modem via bpost. Just follow our setup guide.

**Installation by an installer:**

- Free when you aren’t eligible for self-installation.

- € 59 when you are eligible but you choose to have an installer come by. (Normal price : € 149)

You can easily schedule your appointment via your [My Viking account](https://mobilevikings.be/en/my-viking/lines/network). The sooner you report your move, the more time slots you can choose from.

### 6\. Return your old hardware

When you move, you always get new equipment from us, so you enjoy the latest hardware and you can have an internet connection at both addresses for an overlapping period.during your move. ;-) Once your internet connection is active at the new address, all you have to do is return the hardware from your old address. More details below!

## What should I do with my modem and Wi-Fi booster(s)?

- You’ll always receive new equipment when moving, so you’re instantly online at your new place with the latest gear.

- Once your internet’s up and running at your new address, just return your old hardware within two weeks. Download your return label in your [My Viking-account](https://mobilevikings.be/en/my-viking/lines/settings) and send back the modem and Wi-Fi booster(s) free of charge via bpost.

- Can’t find the label? Reach out to [our helpdesk](https://mobilevikings.be/en/support#contact). If you don’t return the hardware, extra charges will be applied.

## Is there a transition period for my subscription?

When informing us of your move through your My Viking account, you have two options to cancel the subscription at your current address.

### Terminate your current subscription automatically

- This happens automatically from the moment the internet connection is active at your new address. You don't have to do anything yourself.

- Your two subscriptions are linked to each other, so you don't end up paying double for your internet.

- You will receive a pro rata invoice for your old subscription.

### Cancel your current subscription yourself

- You terminate your subscription whenever you want. As long as you don’t cancel your subscription, you keep paying for it.

- You can let both subscriptions overlap, this allows you to have an active internet connection at both addresses.

- During the bridging period, you will receive a double invoice. For the last month of your current subscription, you will receive a pro rata invoice.

## How do I know if Fiber is available at my new address?

When you report your move, we check the [connection at your new address](https://mobilevikings.be/en/registration/broadband/check-address).

## Frequently asked questions

### I forgot to terminate my internet at my previous address, what now?

As long as you don’t terminate your old internet subscription, you will continue to receive an invoice each month. You can cancel anytime via your [My Viking account](https://mobilevikings.be/nl/my-viking/lines/settings): open ‘Internet at home’, go to the ‘Product’ tab, and click ‘Cancel home internet’.

### I’m moving into a new building/ construction, what do I have to do?

You're moving into a new building, how exciting! But what exactly should you think about when you move?

- Install a conduit: make sure it has a diameter of at least 50 mm, with a smooth inner wall and a traction wire in it. The conduit should run from outside to inside (all the way into the house). Place it strategically: preferably near the electricity meter, where the installation will take place.

- Check if a distribution point is available: in fact, there will be a cable connected to the nearest distribution point in the wire protection tube. No distribution point in your street, means no available cable network, so no internet services. Check on our [website](https://mobilevikings.be/en/registration/broadband/check-address) if there is a cable network in your street.

- If the building is windproof (roof, windows, and doors installed) and the above steps are sorted, you can already request installation. Either via your [My Viking account](https://mobilevikings.be/nl/my-viking/lines/settings) (for existing Vikings) or via our [website](https://mobilevikings.be/en/offer/internet/) (for new ones).
