# Help, my phone has been stolen or lost!

Lost your phone? Here's what to do!

## Stop that thief! Or… should we?

We are sorry to hear you have lost your device. Unfortunately, we can no longer block your device using the IMEI. But no worries, we have prepared a few steps to help keep your account secure.

**Tab: iPhone**

### Step 1: Search your phone

- Open the ‘Find My iPhone’ app on another device or go to the website.

- Log in to your iCloud account and click the ‘Find My iPhone’ icon. Apple will now try to connect to your phone.

- If the connection is successful, a map showing your phone’s location will appear.

- Go to the location to retrieve your phone.

If this feature was not enabled when you lost your phone, unfortunately, you will not be able to locate it this way. However, the next step can help you protect your data.

### Step 2: Just to be sure: Change your important passwords

Changing your passwords is a smart move. Start with your Apple ID or Google account to keep your cloud data, apps, and other linked information secure, even if your device is out of reach.

Do not forget your email and social media accounts either. This helps ensure that no one else can access your personal information.

### Step 3: Block and replace your SIM card

You can easily block your SIM card and request a replacement SIM card through your My Viking account.

#### **For regular SIM cards**

When you request a new SIM card, it will be sent to you free of charge via bpost. Delivery takes 3 to 5 business days. You will, of course, keep your phone number and your remaining calling credit.

#### **For eSIM**

When requesting your replacement SIM card, choose the option 'eSIM'. You will then immediately receive an email with the necessary instructions to [activate](https://mobilevikings.be/en/support/activating-installing-esim#installation-and-activation) it.

- Do you have a **subscription**? Your subscription continues as usual.

- Do you have a **top-up card**? The remaining call credit is automatically transferred to your new SIM card.

### Step 4: Don't forget to file a report!

Always file a report, even online. This increases the chances of getting your device back. Is your phone insured? In that case, filing a report is often required. The police may also ask for the serial number (IMEI number).

You can find this number on your phone’s box. Can’t find it right away? Search online to learn how to retrieve the IMEI number for your specific device.

**Tab: Android**

### Step 1: Search your phone

- Open the ‘Find My Device’ app on another device or go to the website.

- Log in with the same Google account as the one on the device you lost. Google will now try to connect to your phone.

- If the connection is successful, you will see a map showing your phone’s location, the battery level, and the Wi-Fi network your device is connected to.

- Go to the location to retrieve your phone.

If this feature was not enabled when you lost your phone, unfortunately, you will not be able to locate it this way. However, the next step can help you protect your data.
