# I can't call or text.

Worst-case scenario: you're unreachable. Friends can’t call you, you can’t text your partner. Time to activate the emergency plan!

## No worries, we'll fix it right away.

**Tab: I can't call**

1.  First things first: **restart your device.**

2.  Then log in to your [My Viking account](https://mobilevikings.be/en/my-viking/sims/balance) to check if you still have **enough calling credit or data bundles**. Got an unpaid invoice? That could be the issue too.

3.  Next, check if you’re **connected to a network**. No connection? Try connecting manually via your phone’s settings. Go to [this page](https://mobilevikings.be/en/support/network-settings#select-a-network) and follow the steps.

4.  Still not working? Try your (physical) SIM card **in another device,** just to be sure the problem isn’t your phone. 

5.  Are you **abroad**? Try **another provider**. And yep, you’ll need to restart your device again. Also, make sure you’re using the correct number format - like +32 for Belgium or +33 for France.

**Tab: I can't send texts**

1.  First, check your [My Viking account](https://mobilevikings.be/en/my-viking/sims/balance) to see if you still have **enough calling credit or data bundles**. Got an unpaid invoice? That could be the issue too.

2.  Next, check if you’re **connected to a network**. No connection? Try connecting manually via your phone’s settings. Go to [this page](https://mobilevikings.be/en/support/network-settings#select-a-network) and follow the steps.

3.  Once you’ve done that, **restart** your device and try sending a text to yourself. 

4.  Still no luck? Try your (physical) SIM card in **another phone**, just to rule out any issues with your device.

5.  **Are you abroad?** Try a different provider and restart your device again. Also, make sure you’re using the correct number format - for example, +32 for texting a Belgian number or +33 for a French one.
