# Activate your SIM card

Activate your SIM card and you'll be surfing, calling, and texting in no time.

## Activate your SIM card

1.  Go to [www.mobilevikings.be/en/activation](http://www.mobilevikings.be/en/activation).

2.  Not logged in yet? Log in with your Mobile Vikings account.

    _Tip: This is the email address you used to order the SIM card._

3.  Enter the last four digits of the Mobile Vikings SIM card number.

4.  After that, you’ll need to verify your identity either through a payment or with your ID.

5.  Activation takes up to one hour.

6.  You’re all set!

2.  Not logged in yet? Log in with your Mobile Vikings account.

3.  Enter the last four digits of the Mobile Vikings SIM card number.

4.  Activation takes up to one working day. For Business customers, this may take up to 2 days. Your old SIM card will keep working until your Mobile Vikings SIM card is active.

5.  You’re all set!

## Frequently asked questions

### I have no network after activation.

Your SIM card might not be fully activated yet. First, try restarting your device. Still not working? Then try your SIM card in another device to rule out any issues with your phone. If that doesn't solve the problem, [contact our helpdesk](https://mobilevikings.be/en/support#contact).

### I’m getting an error message while activating my SIM card.

### Why do I need to verify my identity for my SIM card?

Since 2016, it's legally required to verify your identity when purchasing a subscription or prepaid SIM card.

### How do I verify my identity for my SIM card?

You can verify your identity by making your first payment using Bancontact. The law requires a new identity verification within 18 months after the first transaction.

Are you using a foreign bank account for automatic payments or SMS payments? Then you cannot activate a prepaid SIM card. Your first payment and the verification after 18 months must always be made with a Belgian payment method. For all other payments, you can use any payment method.

### I can't log in.

Is it not working with your email address? Try logging in with your phone number instead and vice versa. Also, check if your device automatically capitalizes the first letter of your password.
